Always ready for a new challenge, Liza has taught herself how to paint, sew, and write — sort of. In her youth, she often begged her parents for new notebooks that she filled with childish short stories and, later, angsty teenage poetry. Don’t remind her, though — she’ll cringe at the mere memories of drafting a story about talking fish and mulling over adolescent drama. (We’ve all gotta start somewhere!) But nowadays, she combines her creative skills with her knowledge of sociology and psychology to compose reflective and thought-provoking written work.
With her eye on a career in TV production, she leapt into the world of broadcasting at News 19 in Huntsville, Alabama. Liza began her journey as a part-time production assistant in February 2021 and later became a producer until her departure in February 2025. Outside of news, Liza has completed screenwriting and TV writing courses offered by Gotham Writing Workshop.
Beyond her interests in writing, Liza is a devoted advocate for mental health, animal welfare, and racial equality. In 2019, she and her best friend co-founded a nonprofit organization to provide online peer support for people recovering from mental illness and/or addiction. Liza served as the vice president until the company's closure in 2023.
In her leisure time, Liza can be found playing video games with her friends, watching Dimension 20 on Dropout, or reading books that may or may not be research for her various projects. When she isn't writing, she's probably drawing or painting, too! (All of the art on this website is her work.)
In addition to growing up in Hawaii, Liza has lived in Idaho, Georgia, Texas, and Alabama. She currently resides in Washington.
